Shawn Michaels: Tuesday Night Move 'Certainly Wouldn't Hurt' WWE NXT

'The Wednesday Night War' seems set to end

Shawn Michaels has commented on a rumoured move to Tuesday nights for NXT, saying no longer being in direct competition with a rival wrestling show 'certainly wouldn't hurt' the WWE brand.

It has been reported that NXT will switch to Tuesday nights following WWE WrestleMania 37, as a result of the USA Network's desire to broadcast the National Hockey League in the black-and-gold brand's current slot, on a Wednesday evening.

WWE Hall Of Famer Michaels now works on the NXT product and, when asked about a potential switch to a Tuesday for the show, said he believes it might allow fans to enjoy the product more.

Speaking to the New York Post, Michaels said: "It’s always clearly easier when your sort of destination programming, so to speak. Nothing would change certainly for us. We still try to put the best show out there that we can. Clearly, I know that’s everybody’s goal.

"I think it would only be fair to say everyone knows that when you are not competing against another similar show that it makes it a little bit easier. It allows people to enjoy that. And then you think about the follow from Raw the next night. So, clearly, it certainly wouldn’t hurt."

A move to Tuesday would stop NXT from being in direct competition with All Elite Wrestling and AEW: Dynamite, but interestingly IMPACT Wrestling put out their weekly television broadcast on a Tuesday evening also.
