A new match was added to the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view at Thursday night's taping of AEW Collision in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The episode is scheduled to air on Saturday night on TNT in the United States.

During the taping, Chris Jericho and Big Bill's issues with Private Party came to a head and the Learning Tree ultimately picked up the win. Jericho and 'Redwood' then attacked Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen following the match, only for Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata and HOOK to make the save. This led to Samoa Joe challenging Chris Jericho, Big Bill, and Bryan Keith to a trios match at Forbidden Door against himself, HOOK, and Shibata.

Chris Jericho and HOOK have been in a long-running feud over the FTW Championship, with Samoa Joe being added to the mix in recent weeks after he formed a mentor-protege relationship with HOOK, even teaching him to move out of the way when wrestlers dive at you from the top rope.

Forbidden Door will emanate from UBS Arena in Long Island, New York on Sunday, June 30. The current advertised card is as follows:

  • Swerve Strickland (c) vs. Will Ospreay - AEW World Championship
