Toni Storm will utilise a gimmick that has often been poorly received in professional wrestling.

Storm made her return after several months away from All Elite Wrestling on Wednesday night's Winter is Coming edition of Dynamite. Storm appeared in the closing moments of Dynamite following Mariah May's win over Mina Shirakawa, with Storm returning under her old gimmick and using her former entrance music.

AEW's plans for Toni Storm are that she is suffering from amnesia and she can't remember anything from her time in AEW so far, including her run as 'Timeless' Toni Storm.

AEW taped Collision Winter is Coming on Thursday night and the show saw Toni Storm defeat Shazza McKenzie. Post-match, Storm grabbed the microphone and stated, "I never thought I'd get to say this, but Toni Storm is officially All Elite!", signalling she can't remember anything since early 2022.

Amnesia storylines have been utilised in pro wrestling before. There was the infamous Cactus Jack lost in Cleveland storyline in WCW where Mick Foley pretended to have lost in memory and was found roaming the streets of Cleveland as a sailor. Foley then returned and revealed it was all a ploy to trick Vader. Stephanie McMahon also briefly had amnesia as part of a WWE storyline in 1999.

Tony Khan's booking of Toni Storm's return reportedly left many in AEW "appalled" as Khan opted to put Storm's return match on Rampage.
