WWE presents Backlash 2026 from the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida on Saturday, May 9 and five matches will be taking place at the first pay-per-view since WrestleMania 42.
The main event of Backlash 2026 is scheduled to be Roman Reigns' first World Heavyweight Title defence against Jacob Fatu, while Trick Williams will also defend the United States Championship for the first time in a WrestleMania 42 rematch against Sami Zayn. IYO SKY vs. Asuka is also planned for Backlash.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, the creative favourites for WWE Backlash this week were Roman Reigns, Trick Williams, and IYO SKY. This doesn't necessarily mean Roman Reigns will pick up a decisive win, though, as the expectation within WWE was Reigns would walk out as champion at Backlash.
The other two matches on the Backlash 2026 card are Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker and Danhausen and a mystery partner vs. The Miz and Kit Wilson. Speculation within WWE has suggested Danhausen's partner could be Jelly Roll.
