When Sting debuted in WWE at Survivor Series 2014, wrestling fans around the world hoped that we would finally see Sting vs. The Undertaker. It's a dream match many had been clamouring for since the 1990's.

Alas, WWE chose to have Sting face Triple H at WrestleMania 31, in a call back to the Monday Night Wars. The match included interference from D-Generation X and the New World Order.

Since retiring however, Sting has continued to advocate for one final match against The Undertaker, again bringing it up on WWE Untold: Sting's Last Stand. A WWE Network documentary that explored The Icon's final match in the company.

In the final moments of the documentary, Sting says, "Who knows, you know, if everything lines up just right, then Vince and Triple H, and Taker, Sting. Maybe we could do this, maybe we could just do a little, lets just do a face off...Lets just get you guys involved in this or that. Maybe I could do that. I don't know if its just ego or pride...I feel like i could do it all these years later."

Sting however, did admit that, "It's insanity."

Therefore, no matter how much the wrestling world, or Sting himself, want to see the two wrestling icon's face off, it appears it will never come to fruition.
