Surprises Planned For First Episode Of WWE NXT On The CW

Surprises are planned for the first episode of WWE NXT on The CW, according to WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels. 

Speaking to Iridian Fierro on WGN Radio, Michaels wouldn't reveal what was planned for CM Punk on the first WWE NXT episode on The CW but he did note other surprises would be on the show. 

"Can't let the cat out of the bag on that right now. So, he's going to be there. He's going to be playing a major role, obviously, for us, and again, as I said. Certainly, other surprises are sure to come," Michaels said.

WWE NXT will air on The CW from October 1 as part of a multi-year deal. The first episode will air from Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, while the second episode on October 8 will emanate from the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri, with Randy Orton expected to appear. 

The CW are said to be "all in" on promoting NXT and there may even be a crossover between NXT and other CW series. WWE are hoping NXT on The CW will bring in younger viewers and provide a jumping-on point for potential fans to discover WWE's other programming.
