Swerve Strickland may be set to face Bobby Lashley in singles competition at AEW Full Gear on November 23, but the former AEW World Champion has decided to put himself through some ‘hurt’ ahead of the clash by getting his throat tattooed.
Strickland is yet to show off the finished piece, but posted a video of himself in the tattooist’s chair, with a simple caption of ‘raw’.
Some have joked that Strickland has taken up former AEW EVP Cody Rhodes’ mantle of having a statement neck tattoo, but unlike Rhodes Strickland is already heavily tattooed so the finished piece probably won’t look, frankly, a little weird.
Swerve’s upcoming match with Lashley will be the first time the two have crossed paths, and will mark Strickland’s first match since his defeat at the hands of Hangman Page in their brutal lights out steel cage match at AEW All Out on September 7. For Lashley, this will be the ‘All Mighty’s first match since his win over Santos Escobar at a WWE house show in May 2024. Lashley’s last televised bout came on the April 12 edition of WWE SmackDown.
