Texas Death Match Suddenly Booked For AEW Dynamite

AEW Dynamite to feature a Texas Death Match

If the memes are anything to go by then All Elite Wrestling ‘has the feeling back’, seemingly evidenced with the last minute promotion of a Texas Death Match on the upcoming February 14 edition of AEW Dynamite.

As part of the escalating conflict between Best Friends/CHAOS and The Undisputed Kingdom, AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy is set to face The Kingdom’s Matt Taven in the aforementioned Texas Death Match, with AEW President Tony Khan announcing the match on Twitter/X on February 13:

“OC has challenged anyone in Undisputed Kingdom to a Valentine's Day TEXAS DEATH MATCH tomorrow, and Taven's accepted! Texas Death Match @orangecassidy vs @MattTaven.”

The last major Texas Death Match in AEW was the bloody match of the year contender between Swerve Strickland and Hangman Page at Full Gear on November 18, 2023, and if OC vs. Taven goes anywhere near as wild as Swerve vs. Hangman did then we’re in store for a St. Valentine’s Day massacre.

Also announced for Dynamite, Jon Moxley will be in action against FTR’s Dax Harwood, a first time ever singles clash between the two.
