The Rock Booed During WWE NXT Vengeance Day

The Tennessee crowd reacted negatively whenever The Rock was shown on screen.

While The Rock was not physically present during last night's NXT Vengeance Day, his presence was certainly felt.

Fightful Select noted that whenever The Rock was shown on WrestleMania-related graphics, the crowd would boo. It added that there were efforts made by the production crew to cover this reaction up.

The Rock's daughter, NXT General Manager Ava, was shown once on the show, in a backstage segment where she bragged about NXT's success and promising more big shows in the future.

There has been a pronounced negative reaction towards The Rock following the February 2 episode of SmackDown, where 2024 Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes seemingly stepped aside and allowed him to challenge current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL.

#WeWantCody subsequently trended on social media, while The Rock's own social media pages have been bombarded with pro-Cody comments. Logan Paul, Ricochet, Matt Cardona and others have also used the #WeWantCody hashtag in social media posts.

With The Rock now in the WrestleMania mix, his close ally (and former Raw Head Writer) Brian Gewirtz could be utilised as a creative 'Plan B' in the future, according to reports
