The Rock's WWE SmackDown Segment Overran, Time Cut On Matches Again

The Rock's SmackDown segment went too long once again, leading to changes

During a segment involving The Rock and Roman Reigns a few weeks back, which ran for almost 40 minutes, several changes were made to that episode of Friday Night SmackDown, such as cuts to matches like Naomi vs. Tiffany Stratton. Additionally, the segment which saw The Bloodline face off with Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins cut to black for some viewers due to it overrunning. On this week’s SmackDown, in which The Rock brought back the “Rock Concert” segment, it overran again and cuts were made to SmackDown elsewhere.

According to Fightful Select, The Rock’s segment went long, with those in WWE being fully aware that this would probably happen. When it comes to changes on the show, the match which received less time was the tag team bout between Legado Del Fantasma and the Latino World Order, which was set to run over two segments, but instead was cut down to just 11 minutes, including entrances and the post match angle involving Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar.

The Rock looks to be receiving a fair bit of leniency in WWE since his return, with this stretching out to the fact that he is allowed to use profanity in his social media promos, whereas other talents have been told they are not allowed, per a recent report.
