The Rock Still Loves Steve Blackman
The Rock is a fan of Steve Blackman, just like the rest of us
Steve Blackman is arguably one of the biggest cult heroes in pro-wrestling, with legions of long-term wrestling fans proudly showing their love and appreciation of ‘The Lethal Weapon’.
It turns out that Blackman has a fan in very high places, as The Rock revealed on social media his admiration for Blackman.
An Instagram post showing Blackman in great shape at 60-years-old prompted Rock to write:
“Holy s*** he looks incredible. Not surprised, Steve always took great care of himself ---- (also super good dude, who I liked a lot)," posted Rock.
Initially appearing in WWE in the late 80s, Blackman would have to wait until the vaunted Attitude Era to start his full-time run, after battling malaria for several years. During the Attitude Era, Blackman was known for his no-nonsense martial arts persona, and played a big part in the popular Hardcore Division, often bringing a duffel bag of weapons to his matches.
Blackman would feud with the likes of Ken Shamrock and Shane McMahon in WWE, memorably sending the latter careening off the side of the TitanTron at SummerSlam 2000, before nailing an impressive elbow drop from the structure.
