The Rock Vs. Roman Reigns 'Not Dead' Within WWE
The Rock vs. Roman Reigns may still happen
Jan 10, 2025
The idea of running an eventual match between The Rock and Roman Reigns is "not dead", several people within WWE have told Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The Rock made his return to WWE TV on the premiere of Monday Night Raw on Netflix, during which the 'Brahma Bull' squashed his beef with Cody Rhodes and acknowledged Roman Reigns as his Tribal Chief.
While it seemed obvious following the angle, Meltzer has confirmed the original planned headline match at WrestleMania 41 of The Rock vs. Cody Rhodes is no longer happening. The Rock has not committed to wrestling at WrestleMania 41 but a future match between Dwayne Johnson and Roman Reigns could still happen at some point in the future.
Ultimately, any Roman Reigns vs. The Rock match will be up to Dwayne Johnson and if he feels he has the time for the training camp the 52-year-old believes he needs to have a pro wrestling match.
When or if The Rock will ever wrestle for WWE again is unknown, with reports noting this week that Dwayne Johnson doesn't know when he will next work a pro wrestling match.
