The Rock's WWE SummerSlam Status Revealed

WWE are set to hold their second two-night pay-per-view of the year in early August when SummerSlam emanates from MetLife Stadium on Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3.

A WrestleMania 41 rematch between John Cena and Cody Rhodes will headline SummerSlam and other matches set for the two-night event include Gunther vs. CM Punk and Randy Orton & Jelly Roll vs. Drew McIntyre & Logan Paul.

One name who seemingly won't be at SummerSlam, however, is The Rock as BodySlam has reported there is currently no indication that Dwayne Johnson is scheduled to return to WWE in the near future.

The Rock has not appeared on WWE programming since Elimination Chamber when John Cena selling his soul to Dwayne Johnson brought about Cena's heel turn. The expectation was The Rock would be at WrestleMania 41, but he decided to step away from WWE after Elimination Chamber. Instead, Travis Scott infamously performed a run-in/walk-in during Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena at Mania.
