The latest edition of TNA Slammiversary aired on Sunday, July 20 in what was one of the biggest pay-per-views in the history of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.
The match considered to have stolen the show was the X-Division Title match between Moose and Leon Slater which saw Slater become the youngest X-Division Champion in history. The match could have ended up being even better, though, as Bryan Alvarez reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that spots from the the contest were scrapped after Moose was injured on the hurricanrana from the apron to the floor.
"Come to find out, he got hurt on that spot and I guess they had some other stuff for the match planned that they couldn't do because he was hurt. So believe it or not, they did that entire match with his back was bad enough that there was stuff they chopped out of the match later on. So that match would have been even better had that not happened…It was that bump when he did the flip bump off the apron and splatted on the floor. And that was early in the match, so they went on to have that incredible match with him being hurt," Alvarez said.
It was reported following Slammiversary that Moose was "very banged up", having sustained damage to his back and hip on the bump to the floor. Moose has since announced he is taking a step back to "get healthy."
