Title Changes Hands On WWE NXT

A new champion was crowned on WWE NXT

A title change took place on Tuesday's edition of WWE NXT.

NXT presented a special 'Heatwave' edition of the Tuesday night show on August 22 and the show saw Nathan Frazer put his NXT Heritage Cup Championship on the line against former champion Noam Dar. The expectation was that Nathan Frazer would retain the trophy but the two competitors went into the closing stretch tied at one fall apiece.

Frazer then went for a Phoenix Splash but came up empty, with Dar capitalising with a Shining Wizard to score the third and decisive pinfall. Dar did have some help during the match, though, as Tyler Bate, who was cornering Nathan Frazer, was taken out by Dabba-Kato.

August 22 begins Dar's third reign with the NXT Heritage Cup Title. He previously held the trophy in NXT UK and brought it to the United States earlier this year. Dar dropped the trophy to Nathan Frazer by proxy in June after Oro Mensah wrestled on Dar's behalf.

Dar fell into a catatonic state following the loss, only coming around after the other members of Meta-Four gifted him a replica of the NXT Heritage Cup. Dar eventually agreed to give up the trophy in exchange for a rematch with Frazer.
