Title Changes Hands On WWE NXT

On last night's episode of NXT, Finn Balor discovered who attacked him three weeks ago, Triple H and Shawn Michaels announced the black and gold brand's next big show will be NXT TakeOver: In Your House on June 7, and Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher defended the NXT Tag Team Championships against Imperium to open the show.

Riddle and Thatcher struggled against the experienced team of Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel as the Italian and the German wore The King Of Bros down for much of the match. The beginning of the finish came after Riddle inadvertently Monkey Flipped Barthel into The British Messiah. This greatly angered Thatcher who abandoned the former UFC fighter to defend the Tag Team titles alone.

Having to fight on without his partner, Riddle was quickly vanquished by Imperium as they connected with the European Bomb for the victory.

With that, we have new NXT Tag Team Champions.

Thatcher and Riddle's friendship crumbled into a pile of ash later in the show as The British Messiah attacked Matt and they later went one on one in the main event. This news will surely devastate Pete Dunne who thought he could rely on Thatcher while he is stranded in the United Kingdom.
