TKO Rules Out Vince McMahon Returning To The Company

Vince McMahon won't be back in TKO, according to the company president anyway

Don't expect Vince McMahon to work his way back into WWE like he did in January 2023.

McMahon had been TKO Executive Chairman following WWE's merger with UFC in September of last year but he was asked to resign from the role in January after he was accused of sex trafficking, sexual assault, and physical and emotional abuse by former WWE employee Janel Grant. McMahon remains under federal investigation for several sexual assault allegations.

McMahon has since sold 25 percent of his TKO stock, selling 5.35 million shares for over $400 million. McMahon still owns 8.3 percent of TKO following the transaction.

TKO President Mark Shapiro was asked about the transaction at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media, & Telecom Conference, during which he took the opportunity to rule out Vince McMahon ever returning to the organisation.

"We did not participate in the recent sale on Vince McMahon's load that he dropped off. This is now his second time. He's gone from 28 million shares to 15 million shares. He now roughly has 8.5%. We're not in conversation with him. We don't talk to him, we don't know his motive, his plan, his timeline, what if any, he doesn't consult with us. He doesn't work for the company. He doesn't work at the company. He doesn't come into the offices. He's not coming back to the company," Shapiro said.

Following his 'retirement' in the Summer of 2022, McMahon managed to force his way back into WWE by reshuffling the company's board of directors. McMahon does not have the voting power in TKO to return to the company in this way, however.
