Tom Campbell Enters Wrestle Carnival Rumble, Suffers Concussion Scare

Cultaholic's own Tom Campbell ended Sunday night as an egghead. Unfortunately for him, he wasn't a part of the former BBC series and instead had a lump just above his eye after a concussion scare.

Tom was the guest ring announcer at Wrestle Carnival's Foley Invitational - part of the promotion's Triple Crown Series and a tribute to Wrestle Carnival friend Adam Foley, who passed away suddenly last year. The show from Coventry, England on April 27 featured an Invitational Rumble for the There Is a World of Wrestling Championship and Campbell ended up in the match following encouragement from the fans in attendance.

Dressed in a shirt and trousers, Campbell actually scored an elimination after angering Big Strong Man with a pelvic thrust face-off, sending the wrestler over the top rope after they charged at Campbell. Tom then displayed his pro wrestling powers as he sent Rogan flying into the air following a Stone Cold Stunner.

It was all downhill for Tom from here, however, as he was sent to the apron by Ravie Davie and then to the mat below after Alexxis Falcon missed Davie and ran straight into Campbell. As opposed to taking a small tumble to the floor below, though, Tom chose fight over flight and decided to hit the floor with a Diving Headbutt during his elimination, promptly giving himself a lump on his forehead.

Such was the concern for Tom after his rough landing that he was checked for a concussion. Fortunately, Campbell is fine except for an egg above his eye and a bruise on his 'snooker arm'. He was back at work today.
