Timeless Toni Storm makes her entrance prior to her match on an episode of AEW Collision in July 2024

The last week has seen AEW and Tony Khan involved in a back-and-forth story involving the current status of Ricky Starks, with the absent star declaring his intention of competing on the indies due to being ‘frozen out’ of the company, leading to announced dates for GCW. However, it was soon revealed that Starks was being pulled from his scheduled matches in GCW, reportedly due to comments made by GCW star Effy. It isn’t just Starks who is being taken off events, as Toni Storm has been removed from a show too.

The former AEW Women’s World Champion was scheduled to compete at the upcoming CMLL show on December 13 in Arena Mexico, teaming with Red Velvet to take on La Catalina & Tessa Blanchard. Plans have now changed, as Viva Van will team with Red Velvet instead, taking on a new duo of Lluvia & La Jarochita, with Storm no longer advertised for the event at all. It is unclear as to why Storm is no longer scheduled for the event.

AEW wrestler Deonna Purrazzo has now been advertised instead in what way be a replacement sent over by AEW, and she will take on La Catalina, who was originally slated for the match featuring Storm. Storm revealed late in November that she was ‘retiring’, though Tony Khan was quick to dispel this.
