Tony Khan: "It's Great To Have Ric Flair In AEW"

Khan is very happy with the Flair/AEW relationship.

AEW CEO Tony Khan is glad Ric Flair is All Elite.

The two-time WWE Hall of Famer was presented as a 'gift' to Sting on the October 25, 2023 edition of Dynamite and has been by his old rival's side as Sting approaches his retirement match at AEW Revolution in March.

Speaking about the 74-year-old's presence in AEW during a recent appearance on Going Ringside, Khan said:

"It's great to have Ric Flair in AEW and have Ric Flair be part of his final matches for Sting. Also, it's been a great sponsorship opportunity for AEW. Ric Flair is a mogul and somebody who is involved in a lot of businesses as an entrepreneur. Ric Flair's Woooo Energy is a great sponsor and Ric Flair is a great legend in pro wrestling and having him appear and with Sting for these final matches is really something special".

Khan had previously said that Flair was 'effectively paying' AEW to appear on television, due to the nature of the promotion's deal with Woooo Energy.

Though the Nature Boy is new to AEW, it hasn't taken him long to stir up some controversy. The 16-time world champion claimed he was willing to walk away from All Elite Wrestling after a poorly-received promo he delivered on a recent edition of Rampage.
