Tony Khan Not Ready To Say When Sting Will Retire

Sting has said he will retire when his AEW contract expires this year

AEW owner Tony Khan has commented on Sting's approaching retirement.

Sting recently revealed that his time in the squared circle will come to an end when his current AEW contract expires (at an undisclosed time this year).

Khan is not ready to reveal when exactly that is, but stressed that the 63-year-old's motivation is as high as ever and that fans should cherish the remaining opportunities to see The Icon in an AEW ring.

Discussing Sting on a recent episode of the In The Kliq podcast, Khan said:

"I talk to Sting a lot. He is somebody who has been such a huge boost to AEW since he arrived. Sting debuted a little over two years ago at the first Winter is Coming event in AEW.

"I catch up with him pretty frequently on a regular basis. I have to say, Sting's motivation for pro wrestling is as high as it's ever been. He loves what he's doing. I do think he's starting to think about what retirement will look like, but he's also not slowing down at all in the present. So, I'm not ready to say exactly when Sting is going to hang it up, but I do know every time we get to see Sting go out there in AEW, it's very special".

Sting most recently wrestled this past weekend, teaming up with Darby Allin & The Great Muta to defeat AKIRA, Hakushi & Naomichi Marufuji for Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan.
