Trick Williams Details Advice Received From 'Very Genuine' CM Punk
CM Punk mentoring Trick Williams within WWE
Dec 6, 2024
CM Punk has established himself as a mentor to WWE's younger talent within NXT, particularly Trick Willaims who described how the "very genuine" Punk has helped him develop.
"I didn't meet CM Punk until after the rumours about his character were brought about from other places. I didn't know what to expect when I met him, but all I'm gonna say is that dude, Punk, man, good dude, like, solid. You can just tell when some people are just genuine, and he's very genuine. He takes pride in helping us, the next generation, to become the superstars that we need to be. He gives us real advice, too," Williams said on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast.
"He talks about how to handle yourself, in the ring, outside the ring, with everything it takes to become a superstar. Even closer to today's time when we are dealing with different stuff, like social media and how to handle everything that comes with being a superstar in 2024 that other superstars didn’t really have to deal with all the way. He's been very helpful for a lot of us."
CM Punk has been a regular visitor to the WWE Performance Center and at tapings of WWE NXT since he returned to the company in November 2024. The 'Second City Saint' reportedly harbours ambitions of one day running NXT.
WWE have been very happy with CM Punk since his return. His tumultuous run in All Elite Wrestling came to the fore again this week following reports that Ryan Nemeth filed a complaint about alleged abuse he was receiving from Punk.
