Update On Adam Cole's AEW Status Following Dynasty

Latest on Adam Cole's AEW status following Dynasty

After being pulled from the road in recent weeks, Adam Cole made his return at Sunday night's AEW Dynasty pay-per-view. The Undisputed Kingdom leader made an appearance following Roderick Strong's successful AEW International Title defence against Kyle O'Reilly, with Cole initially being wheeled out by Matt Taven and Mike Bennett before he had his own Linda McMahon moment and stood up out of his wheelchair. Cole then proceeded to celebrate with Roderick Strong while also staring daggers into Wardlow, signalling further issues within the Undisputed Kingdom.

Although he is able to walk again, Cole isn't expected to return to in-ring action imminently, according to Fightful Select. It is unknown how far away his in-ring return is but Tony Khan did note during the Dynasty post-show scrum that he would love to have MJF back in AEW "really soon."

"MJF, one of the biggest stars in AEW, we haven't seen him in recent months. I would love to get MJF back here sooner. Sooner than later, like really soon. We have so many great things happening and I think that would be really added. He's one of our great wrestlers and we've had great things happening in AEW lately. A lot of great milestones in the last couple of months. Everything is going great for AEW right now, that would be something that would add a lot. That'd be awesome to have MJF back, and soon, I would love that," Khan stated.

Adam Cole and MJF were previously best friends on AEW TV until Cole was revealed to be The Devil at Worlds End in December 2023, betraying MJF in the process. Cole has been out of action since September 2023, having suffered an ankle injury after landing awkwardly while jumping from the entrance ramp at Dynamite Grand Slam.
