Update On AJ Styles Turning Heel On WWE Raw
Paul Heyman's first night as Raw Executive Director...
Jul 3, 2019
This closing segment to this week's Raw was a monumental one, as AJ Styles and Ricochet went at it for the United States Championship.
After thinking he'd won the title in a decision that was eventually reversed, Styles was rolled up by Ricochet, with the former NXT North American Champion retaining his current title.
With Gallows and Anderson watching the action unfold at ringside, Styles and Ricochet shook hands. Then, after a short back and forth between The Phenomenal One and The Good Brothers, AJ clocked Ricochet upside the head.
Gallows and Anderson then hit a Magic Killer on the United States Champion before he also suffered a Super Styles Clash as AJ turned heel and The Club officially reformed.
Post Wrestling
have learned that turning Styles heel has been in the works for some time, and wasn't a call of new Raw Executive Director Paul Heyman.
At the time of writing, neither Styles nor Gallows or Anderson are set to appear on the Extreme Rules pay-per-view on July 14.
However, with the way Raw ended, a match involving Ricochet appears to be an inevitability.
