Update On Future WWE Plans For Roman Reigns Vs. The Rock

Fans might be waiting to see The Rock vs. Roman Reigns in WWE

When The Rock returned to WWE programming in 2024, the plan was for he and Roman Reigns to headline WrestleMania 40 and finally have their long-awaited match with one another. The sacrifice of Cody Rhodes for these plans led to uproar from fans, and ultimately the shaking up of WrestleMania 40’s build as The Rock instead turned heel, and Rhodes got his main event back against Reigns where he would win the Undisputed WWE Championship.

With Reigns vs. Rock put on hold, many expected the potential delaying of plans for WrestleMania 41. However, insider WRKD Wrestling on X has suggested that fans may be waiting another two years for the match between Reigns & Rock.

On X, someone asked about the possibility of Rock/Roman at WrestleMania 41 in the replies of a tease for CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins at WrestleMania next year, and the response from WRKD Wrestling revealed that it was more likely for The Rock to face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41, and that he will take on Reigns the following year at WrestleMania 42. In the post-WrestleMania RAW this year, The Rock promised that he was coming for Rhodes and the Undisputed WWE Championship.
