Update On Giovanni Vinci Following WWE Raw Injury

Giovanni Vinci latest following WWE Raw

Giovanni Vinci won't be back on WWE TV, at least for a little while.

The Imperium member teamed with his faction mate Ludwig Kaiser to take on Kofi Kingston and Jey Uso on the January 1 edition of Monday Night Raw but the match came to an end by referee stoppage following an injury to Vinci. The former NXT Tag Team Champion landed hard on the back of his head following a Dropkick from Kofi Kingston to Vinci's face while he was in mid-air. Vinci failed to rise after the move, at which point the referee ruled he could not continue.

Vinci noted after the match that he was "fine" but Michael Cole announced on the January 8 episode of Raw that Vinci would be out of action for "a number of weeks." There was no exact timeline given on when Vinci will be back in the ring, nor did Cole divulge the nature of Vinci's injury.

The Imperium vs. Kofi Kingston feud looks set to continue in Vinci's absence and a singles match between the former WWE Champion and Ludwig Kaiser ended in a double count-out on Raw. Kaiser then laid out Kingston following the match, saying it was retribution for Kofi injuring Giovanni Vinci.
