Update On 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan Following Emergency Surgery

A positive update on 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan's health.

A positive update has been given regarding the condition of WWE Hall of Famer 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan. The 69-year-old was rushed to hospital at the weekend, where he underwent emergency surgery.

Yesterday evening, Duggan's official Twitter account posted

"Update: Jim is resting comfortably. He is on the mend and will be back on his feet soon. Thank you for your prayers, good wishes and messages. Hacksaw's fans are awesome! Thanks to @JakeSnakeDDT and Cheryl for the beautiful flowers!"

The type of surgery Duggan had has not been disclosed. Duggan has previously battled cancer twice, having overcome kidney cancer in the late 90s and prostate cancer last year.

The former WCW United States Champion was recently honoured by his hometown of Glen Falls, New York on September 8. As well as being named an honorary member of the Glen Falls Firefighters Association, September 8 was also named James 'Hacksaw' Duggan Day. Duggan had served as a volunteer firefighter in Glen Falls during his collegiate studies.

Also last year, Duggan tackled and detained a home invader who broke into his house seeking refuge from a group of other individuals.
