Update On Jamie Hayter's AEW Absence
More on Jamie Hayter’s absence from AEW
May 16, 2024
It has almost been a full year since Jamie Hayter last wrestled, with the former All Elite Wrestling Women’s World Champion having been out of action with an injury since May 2023.
Updates on Hayter’s return have been few and far between, and a report from Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp indicates that we’re going to have to wait a little more time until we hear of Hayter’s return.
“When she first got hurt, they just put a big ‘TBD’ on it and they had no clue. They had no idea when that was going to be up or when she was going to be back. That’s unfortunate but I haven’t heard any movement on that,” said Sapp on The Hump podcast.
Sapp then added on X (FKA Twitter): "To be clear -- maybe there's been movement on it, but if so, I haven't heard. They knew pretty quickly she'd miss the rest of 2023."
A report in early 2024 stated that Hayter was initially believed to be set for a return in the first half of 2024, but those plans appear to have been thoroughly dashed.
Prior to her injury, Hayter was in the midst of her first reign as AEW Women’s World Champion, holding the strap for 190 days before dropping it to Toni Storm at Double or Nothing 2023.
