Update On Rhea Ripley After Having 'The Wind Knocked Out Of Her' At WWE Saturday Night's Main Event
Update on Rhea Ripley following WWE SNME
Jan 27, 2025
Rhea Ripley was in action at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event on January 25, defending the Women's World Title against Nia Jax inside the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Ripley was ultimately able to win the match following a nine-minute contest, hitting Jax with a Riptide at the third attempt. Ripley is in her second reign as Women's World Champion, having regained the title from Liv Morgan at the Raw Netflix premiere on January 6.
Fightful Select's Corey Brennan has reported that Ripley "had the wind knocked out of her" during the Saturday Night's Main Event match with Nia Jax. The issue didn't lead to any wider problems for Ripley, though, and she was said to be okay following the contest.
WWE Saturday Night's Main Event featured four matches in total. WWE are reportedly "extremely pleased" with how SNME came together. The show did suffer from audio issues early on as the Spanish-language feed bled over Joe Tessitore and Jesse "The Body" Ventura speaking during the introduction of the show. These issues only occurred on NBC, however, and international fans watching on YouTube did not experience similar problems.
