WWE have looked to prevent WWE talents from cursing, with WWE President Nick Khan, Triple H, and Executive Vice President of Talent Dan Ventrelle sending around a memo only a few weeks ago that told talents there was to be no swearing from them, not even on social media, as WWE is a PG company.

This memo has not affected The Rock, though, and he has used the word "ass" on WWE TV despite a ban on the term as FOX doesn't like it on their network. The Rock has also repeatedly cursed during his WWE promos.

FOX initially blacked out the broadcast during The Rock's cursing but the network simply bleeped out his swearing during the Rock concert on the March 25 edition of SmackDown. It emerged soon after that FOX were supplied with a copy of The Rock's script before SmackDown went on the air.

Aaron Varble of SEScoops has since noted this was only a recent change, with a tenured member of WWE creative saying: "We only started giving FOX The Rock's promos in advance this week after they went to total blackness every time he cursed last time."

The perceived double standard over The Rock's swearing on WWE TV has reportedly caused frustration amongst the WWE roster. The feeling is that since Dwayne Johnson is on the TKO Board of Directors then he should be setting an example.
