Vince McMahon Told WWE Writers To "Take Your Heads Out Of Dave Meltzer's A**"

Vince McMahon wanted to get away from ranking matches

Vince McMahon isn't a fan of analysing match quality.

Speaking on the Cheap Heat Productions Podcast, former WWE magazine writer Brian Soloman revealed it was once pitched to produce a greatest steel cage matches ever list for the WWE publication. The idea was shot down by Vince McMahon, though, who simply told the team they needed to take their heads out of Wrestling Observer Newsletter founder Dave Meltzer's a**.

"We wanted to do the greatest steel cage matches ever, and he goes, 'Boy, you guys really need to take your heads out of Dave Meltzer's a**.' I'm terrified, of course, I don't know what I'm supposed to do. I'm like 30-years-old, whatever it is, I'm just trying to feed my kids, and this crazy billionaire and his whims," Soloman said.

Meltzer, of course, popularised the star rating for grading professional wrestling matches.

Soloman also revealed that McMahon preferred Hulk Hogan vs. Andre The Giant over Randy Savage vs. Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat at WrestleMania III, seemingly due to the spectacle.
