WALTER Vs. Ilja Dragunov II Set For WWE NXT TakeOver 36

WALTER vs. Ilja Dragunov II has a new date.

The NXT United Kingdom Championship match was originally scheduled to take place on the July 22 edition of NXT UK, but the bout was postponed after WALTER suffered a legitimate hand injury. In storyline, the injury was caused by Dragunov following a backstage altercation on July 15. 

Now, the new date for the match has been revealed. Triple H, Shawn Michaels and William Regal all appeared on the latest edition of NXT UK and announced WALTER vs. Dragunov II would take place at NXT TakeOver 36 on Sunday, August 22. 

WALTER and Dragunov previously squared off for the NXT United Kingdom Championship in October 2020 in a match of the year candidate. WALTER picked up the win on that occasion and has since successfully retained the gold against A-Kid, Tommaso Ciampa and Rampage Brown. 

WALTER vs. Dragunov II isn't the only match set for NXT TakeOver 36. While not officially announced, the NXT Championship match on the August 22 show was booked during TV tapings earlier this week. Find out who Karrion Kross will face here.
