WBD Executives Attend AEW Dynamite

AEW Dynamite saw WBD executives in attendance

All Elite Wrestling held their latest edition of Dynamite in Los Angeles on May 29, with executives from broadcast partner Warner Bros. Discovery in attendance for the show.

Per a report from PWInsider, several WBD executives were in town for the show, including Associate General Manager and Senior Vice President, Programming & Operations, TNT, TBS, and truTV Sam Linsky - reportedly a big champion of AEW since Dynamite started on TNT back in 2019.

AEW and WBD have been in discussions over a new media rights deal since late 2023, with recent reports suggesting that Tony Khan and AEW were ‘disappointed’ with WBD’s opening offer on a new deal, a claim which was subsequently shot down by AEW. There is believed to be excitement over a possible deal the two sides could reach, though.

Some believe AEW could have an advantage in discussions due to TNT Sports reportedly being on the verge of losing the rights to show live NBA basketball. F4WOnline’s Bryan Alvarez believes a deal between AEW and WBD will be signed ‘relatively soon’, with a figure of $120 million per year being banded about - an increase on the $80 million per year Warner Bros. Discovery currently pay for AEW programming.
