Backstage Chaos At WWE NXT On Tuesday Night

Not everything went smoothly for the May 28 episode of WWE NXT. 

The Tuesday night show was the first time NXT had been live in a couple of weeks, with the May 21 episode being taped a week in advance on May 14 as NXT production staff and agents were needed in Saudi Arabia for King and Queen of the Ring. 

Several crew members for the Tuesday night show arrived in Orlando, Florida early on Tuesday which led to NXT being chaotic backstage, according to Fightful Select. Such was the chaos that "nerves were frayed" throughout the crew by the time NXT went on the air at 8 pm ET. 

WWE NXT on May 28 featured multiple surprises, with the show going off the air following the debut of Ethan Page. TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace also made a shock appearance on the show, with it being revealed the 'Juggernaut' will face NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez at Battleground on Sunday, May 9. 

Due to the surprises, WWE stripped back on backstage access for NXT. Shawn Michaels stood in for Page at NXT rehearsals, while Booker T was listed on internal rundowns instead of Page. Shinsuke Nakamura's theme was also used in rehearsals for Page's attack, while Lita's entrance music was used during rehearsals for Jordynne Grace's appearance.
