'We'll See' - The Rock Comments On Potential WWE Match With Roman Reigns

Could the huge match happen?

The Rock has said there is no truth to reports of a potential WWE WrestleMania match between himself and Roman Reigns 'right now', but has opened the door to a bout with his cousin 'down the road'.

Rumours have persisted for months about a huge clash between Reigns - on the run of his career - and The Rock as the main event of one of the two upcoming WrestleManias. Most recent reports indicate that the match is more likely to happen at WrestleMania 39 in 2023.

The Great One has been conducting numerous interviews in order to promote his new film, Red Notice, and was asked across two different conversations about a potential match with his cousin.

When asked by Andrew Freund of Dish Nation, The Rock said: "There is no truth to that right now. Possibly down the road. We'll see.

"We stay very close, myself and Roman Reigns and I'm very happy and very proud with the work he is doing as well as The Usos, my other family members. Those guys will continue to do what they're doing and we'll see down the road."

The Rock does have a lot of praise for what Reigns and The Usos are currently doing in WWE, going into further detail during his interview with Comicbook.com.

He said: "I'm very close with Roman obviously, and we talk about this all the time, and I continue to encourage him to keep doing your thing, keep sharpening those skills. I think he's doing a great job with his promo, his execution, his in-ring work. It all continues to improve and grow.

"And that's always the best part, I think, about that world of professional wrestling is that when someone gets anointed and given the ball to run, they either score a touchdown with it or they don't. But then some, not only score a touchdown with it, but then they begin to change the way the game is played. And in Roman's case, he's slowly doing that, and you could start to read the tea leaves.

"And again, I'm very, very proud of him. I like everything that he's doing. I like everything that the Usos are doing. I like what they're doing together, and we'll see down the road."
