The reason for fake 'This is Awesome' chants being added to the Netflix version of WWE WrestleMania 40 has been revealed.
Many of WWE's classic pay-per-views/premium live events are available on Netflix in international territories, including the United Kingdom and Ireland, as part of a 10-year deal between the streaming service and WWE that includes Monday Night Raw airing live on Netflix every week.
Edits have been made to current WWE shows on Netflix throughout 2025 but there have also been changes to WWE's library of content, with it emerging this week that fake 'This is Awesome' chants have been added to the Six-Pack Ladder Match for the WWE Tag Team Championships and World Tag Team Titles during WrestleMania 40 night one. The chants were piped into the Netflix version of WrestleMania 40 following an Air Raid Crash from the top of a ladder from Tommaso Ciampa to Tyler Bate.
Fans on the live version of WrestleMania XL can be heard chanting "Holy Sh*t" following the Ciampa-Bate spot and Netflix sources have told Fightful Select the edits were only made to replace expletive chants.
It is unknown if there are plans to edit other shows featuring expletive chants from WWE's content library on Netflix.
