Will Ospreay Vs. Josh Alexander To Main Event January 18 TNA IMPACT

January 18 TNA IMPACT to close with Josh Alexander vs. Will Ospreay

The first episode of IMPACT in the new era of TNA Wrestling is set to go off with a bang, with it revealed that the long awaited rematch between former TNA World Champion Josh Alexander and former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay will close the show.

The two clashed for the first time in October 2023, with Ospreay defeating Alexander in Illinois’ Cicero Stadium. Considered two of the best in-ring talents today, the first bout was very well received, and with excitement around TNA the highest it has been for years, this rematch is a heavily anticipated contest.

Ospreay is set to join All Elite Wrestling on a full-time deal next month after the expiration of his NJPW deal, and whilst the relationship between TNA and AEW is complicated, ‘The Aerial Assassin’ has expressed his hope of competing in a TNA ring again in the future.

For Alexander, he is coming fresh off a hard fought victory over Alex Hammerstone at Hard to Kill on January 13, and will be hoping to climb the ranks in TNA once more, and get his hands back on the TNA World Championship.

The match was recorded at TNA’s Snake Eyes event on January 14, if you’d like to read spoilers for the tapings then click here.

  • Xia Brookside vs. Tasha Steelz
