World Title Match Set For Next Week's SmackDown
A world title match will take place on the first SmackDown of 2025
Dec 28, 2024
Next week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown emanates from the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, and it will mark the very first SmackDown of 2025. With SmackDown heading over to Netflix for UK fans and some select other international viewers the following week, next week’s show will be airing live on YouTube due to it not having a home over in the UK, as last night’s event was the final one to air on TNT Sports.
The show will feature a big world title match as a clash between WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax and one half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Naomi has been officially announced. Jax successfully defended her title against Naomi back on an episode of SmackDown in November. The announcement for this match comes after Naomi was on the winning side of a six-woman tag team match, teaming with Bianca Belair and Bayley to defeat Jax, Tiffany Stratton and Candice LeRae.
Next week’s SmackDown will be a historic one with the show moving to three hours. A non-title singles bout between United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and Andrade has also been announced.
