The Rock’s comeback to Friday Night SmackDown last night brought with it a very big announcement for the city of New Orleans, as the next location of WrestleMania was officially revealed.
After WWE heads to The Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada for WrestleMania 41 this year, the ‘Final Boss’ announced to the world that WrestleMania 42 would be taking place in New Orleans, Louisiana on April 11 and April 12 in 2026 at the Caesars Superdome. This venue was previously the host of both WrestleMania 30 in 2014 and WrestleMania 34 in 2018, with it proving to be a popular city for WWE to frequently come back to for the biggest show of the year. This announcement confirmed previous reports that New Orleans was the city set to host WrestleMania 42.
It will be the first ever two-night WrestleMania for New Orleans, with the event moving to the two-night structure for the first time in 2020. During the post-show press conference after SmackDown, The Rock revealed that the original plan was for the location of WrestleMania 42 to be revealed at the Super Bowl, though that didn’t end up happening. The Rock’s comeback to SmackDown also saw him call out Cody Rhodes, asking him to be ‘his champion’ and sought to claim his soul.
