WWE 2K22 Developers Provide Further Details On MyGM
More about MyGM
After a very long wait for fans, the popular 'GM Mode' will finally return in WWE 2K22, appearing in a title for the first time since 2008.
Now known as MyGM, 2K have noted the new mode will allow players to "draft superstars, book matches, manage contracts, and prove they have what it takes to run the most successful brand in sports entertainment" when the game arrives on March 11.
Further details about the mode have since been revealed, though, following WWE 2K22 Creative Director Lynell Jinks and Art Producer Christina Diem Pham's chat with Operation Sports.
While speaking about the mode, the developers compared MyGM to the Franchise Mode found in other sports titles like Madden and NHL whereby players will have control of their organisation and attempt to defeat the competition. That competition will be the CPU or another player, either locally or online from their friends' list.
Lynell Jinks also revealed players will be working as a GM under Triple H, who will judge them on ratings and other factors to determine if the GM is doing a good job or not.
Something that is exclusive to MyGM, Jinks revealed, is 'Spectate Mode'.
"You can still play the matches, simulate, interfere, and even spectate using spectate mode. It is exclusive to MyGM where you have these predetermined cameras. Now you are like someone in a certain area in the arena cycling through different camera angles just watching and changing on the fly. To me, it's a totally separate mode," Jinks said.
Christina Diem Pham then revealed further details about MyGM, adding: "You have these different options of three types of the amount of weeks you want to choose. Either 15, 25, or 50 weeks overall and as you go through it the idea behind building this is that you definitely want to be able to build a very balanced team and we provide the option for players to auto-build your roster or you can go through and draft superstars yourself.
"Also you'll have different aspects after the match of how your match is broken down. Triple H will give you feedback and the community via social media will also give you feedback as to what match types work or what match types don't work."
WWE 2K22 will be released on March 11. The title will be available on previous and current generation consoles, as well as PC.
