WWE happy with IShowSpeed
Feb 4, 2025
IShowSpeed could be set for more appearances on WWE TV following his surprise in-ring debut at the Royal Rumble on February 1.
The popular streamer (real name Darren Watkins Jr.) was the eighth entrant in the Men's Royal Rumble, replacing Akira Tozawa in the contest. IShowSpeed even eliminated Otis from the match before Bron Breakker decided to decimate Speed with a spear. Speed was then thrown over the top rope, with Otis catching him on the outside and eliminating the streamer with a Fallaway Slam to send Speed tumbling over the announce table and to the floor.
PWInsider has reported that WWE absolutely "adored" IShowSpeed at the Royal Rumble and the company would love to work with him more down the line, potentially at WrestleMania 41. WWE and IShowSpeed are set to collaborate on merchandise too.
The Men's Royal Rumble was ultimately won by Jey Uso in a shock result, last eliminating John Cena. Uso has since addressed criticism of his win, which very much split fans.
