WWE Backlash 2019 Reportedly Rescheduled For June 23

The event had been cancelled due to Saudi Arabia show...

Two days ago, So Cal Uncensored (the website, not the stable) claimed sources within WWE were saying the Backlash pay-per-view - originally scheduled for June 16 in San Diego - had been cancelled due to it taking place just nine days after the company's first Saudi Arabia show of the year.

You know, because of the 'Backlash' they'll more than likely receive for heading out there again...

To combat the unfortunately titled event, WWE have reportedly rescheduled the event, with Dave Meltzer mentioning on a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that Backlash will take place on June 23 in Tacoma.

Here's what Dave had to say on the matter: “They have not cancelled any of the domestic shows that weekend, but like Oakland and Stockton have not been cancelled. Denver and Salt Lake City which would be the weekend of that pay-per-view have been moved back a week so they’ve been moved. So they have done that.

“The San Diego pay-per-view which was Backlash for June 16th is now a house show. They didn’t want to do — I guess the idea is they didn’t want to do two pay-per-views in a row… two weekends in a row it would have been June 7th and the 16th so they moved the Backlash to the 23rd and they’re booking it in Tacoma on the 23rd and San Diego getting a house show.”
