WWE Files Trademark For 'Gauntlet Eliminator'

The next Gauntlet Eliminator will be at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver

WWE have applied to trademark the term 'Gauntlet Eliminator' after utilising the name for a type of match recently seen on NXT.

A Gauntlet Eliminator, in which a series of superstars enter the match at regular intervals and are eliminated by pin or submission, will be used on Night One of WWE NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver to determine the number one contender to Johnny Gargano's North American Championship.

The match has also previously been used to select a challenge for the NXT Title, which Kyle O'Reilly won.

WWE is now seeking to trademark the term with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the description of which is as follows:

Dexter Lumis, Bronson Reed, Pete Dunne, Roderick Strong, Cameron Grimes, Isaiah “Swerve” Scott, Leon Ruff, Kushida, Austin Theory, LA Knight, Tyler Rust, and Jake Atlas will participate in a battle royal on Wednesday’s NXT to determine the six competitiors in the Gauntlet Eliminator at TakeOver: Stand & Deliver.
