WWE Higher-Ups Expecting The Rock To Have A Match At WrestleMania 41

The Rock’s status for WrestleMania 41 is still uncertain, with reports recently suggesting that WWE were working under the impression that he would not be wrestling on the show, but this seems to have changed in the last week. 

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is an internal belief within WWE that The Rock will be at WrestleMania 41 in some capacity. Even though the current reported plans suggest that we could see Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes taking on John Cena, it is stated that this could change depending on what The Rock wants to do at the big show. Previously, it was believed that The Rock would be the one facing Rhodes at WrestleMania with both the Undisputed WWE Championship and The Rock’s personal ‘People’s Championship’ on the line. 

Meltzer explains that The Rock will have a prominent role at WrestleMania if he wants to be there, and that the upcoming premiere of Monday Night RAW on Netflix could tease what he will be up to. Earlier this month it was reported that The Rock was indeed planned to appear on RAW’s Netlfix debut on January 6.
