WWE King Of The Ring Special Set For FOX

No confirmation yet on if the tournament is indeed returning

Reports suggest that FOX is set to air a King of the Ring special in October.

Per a report from PWInsider, the special is set for the first weekend in October - the same weekend as the WWE draft - and will serve as a preview of the upcoming King of the Ring tournament. Similar specials have aired in the past for SummerSlam, and WrestleMania.

WWE have yet to officially release any details about the King of the Ring, but reports have suggested that a men’s and women’s tournament are in the works, with the finals slated for Crown Jewel on October 21, whilst WWE have recently filed a trademark for ‘Queen’s Crown Tournament’.

King of the Ring remains a fan favourite tournament, despite WWE only pushing one tournament specific event in the last 20 years, with the 2015 King of the Ring airing as a WWE Network special. WWE have ran intermittent King of the Ring tournaments throughout the 2000s and beyond, with the finals usually slotted into a non-KOTR specific PPV, or onto an episode of weekly WWE television. Alas, the last tournament in 2019 saw Baron Corbin win the crown on an episode of RAW.
