The main event of WWE Money in the Bank 2026 was made official after the September 14 episode of Monday Night Raw from Mexico City went off the air.
The main event of Raw saw Roman Reigns successfully defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Penta, with the Monday night show ending as Reigns celebrated and the Mexico City fans looked despondent.
In a video posted to social media and YouTube, LA Knight made his way to the ring after Raw went off the air and interrupted the beginning of a Roman Reigns promo with a swift kick to the nether regions and the BFT. LA Knight then held up the World Heavyweight Championship while he stood over Reigns.
Eventually, Roman Reigns made his way out of the ring and channelled his inner-Robert Pattinson from The Odyssey to announce that he will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight at Money in the Bank.
"This is what I'm talking about. I'm sick and tired of it. All these beggars. You want it? If he wants it, he can get it. Money in the Bank. New Orleans. Down south I'm going to whoop his b*tch ass," Reigns said in a clip posted to X/Twitter.
Money in the Bank, which will feature the Money in the Bank ladder matches, will take place at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Saturday, October 10. The pay-per-view had been expected to feature Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight for the World Heavyweight Title.
LA Knight has been feuding with The Bloodline since May and he re-entered the World Heavyweight Title picture after he, Solo Sikoa, and Royce Keys defeated The Usos and Jacob Fatu after SummerSlam, with Knight confronting Reigns on the post-SummerSlam edition of Raw.
LA Knight has twice unsuccessfully challenged Roman Reigns for a world title before at Crown Jewel 2023 and in a four-way that also featured Randy Orton and AJ Styles at Royal Rumble 2024.
