A match graphic for John Cena and CM Punk's WWE Title match at Night of Champions 2025

Despite hostilities in the Middle East between Israel and Iran in recent weeks, WWE have moved forward with plans for Night of Champions and the company will present their latest Saudi Arabia pay-per-view from Riyadh on Saturday, June 28. The show will get underway on Peacock and Netflix at 1 pm ET/6 pm BST.

WWE weren't able to present their original plans for Night of Champions, with IYO SKY vs. Liv Morgan for the Women's World Championship scrapped after Morgan's freak injury. Dominik Mysterio vs. AJ Styles for the Intercontinental Title was also postponed due to a minor injury for Dominik.

With WWE traditionally pocketing $55 million for their Saudi shows, the rare six-match card for WWE Night of Champions 2025 is as follows:

  • John Cena (c) vs. CM Punk - Undisputed WWE Championship
  • Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton - King of the Ring Final
  • Jade Cargill vs. Asuka - Queen of the Ring Final
  • Jacob Fatu (c) vs. Solo Sikoa - United States Championship
  • Rhea Ripley vs. Raquel Rodriguez - Street Fight
  • Sami Zayn vs. Karrion Kross

Cody Rhodes def. Randy Orton - WWE King of the Ring Final

The fans waved their phone torches in the opening moments which briefly halted the in-ring action as Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton simply took time to watch what was going on around them.

The in-ring action began slowly as the two competitors felt each other out before Randy Orton hit a huge Superplex, injuring his back in the process. Cody Rhodes took advantage, hitting a Disaster Kick before he targeted Randy's back, even drawing boos when he squeezed Orton's back between the outside and the ring post.

Orton later managed to escape a Sleeper and followed up with a Powerslam to his former Legacy stablemate for a near fall. It was then almost vintage Orton with a Draping DDT, but Cody escaped and fired back with blows to the lower back before a Cody Cutter for a two count.

Cody followed up with a Super Cody Cutter for another near fall as the former Undisputed WWE Champion continued to receive a smattering of boos from the fans in Saudi Arabia. Orton managed to fight back and connected with a Draping DDT before listening to the voices in his head, only for Cody to counter an RKO into a Cross Rhodes for two.

As Cody looked to regroup, Orton hit an RKO out of nowhere, drawing a monster pop in the process, but Cody kicked out at 2.9. Orton then delayed going for a Punt, which gave Cody enough time to avoid it. Rhodes then locked in a Figure Four, with Orton rolling Rhodes onto his back before Cody reached the rope for the break.

More cheers for Orton and more boos for Cody as they exchanged punches, with both men sweating due to the humidity in the arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Rhodes then went for another Disaster Kick straight into an RKO, but Cody kicked out again. Orton retrieved a chair and waited for Charles Robinson to grab it off him and turn his back so he could take the cover off the top turnbuckle.

With the turnbuckle exposed, Rhodes pushed Orton into it, hurting Randy's side in the process. Cody then followed up with another Cross Rhodes, this time for the 1-2-3.

Rhea Ripley def. Raquel Rodriguez - Street Fight

Raquel Rodriguez dominated the early going as she trapped Rhea Ripley in the ropes and began wailing on her opponent with a kendo stick. After Rodriguez tried to use a chair, though, Ripley kicked the weapon straight back at Rodriguez and the Judgment Day member spilt to the floor.

Ripley tried to Suplex Rodriguez from the announce table to the barricade but Raquel blocked it. Rhea then sent Raquel from the table with a headbutt and looked to follow up with a Cannonball, only for Rodriguez to catch Ripley and Powerbomb her through the table cover that was draped across the barricade.

Ripley soon fought back by smashing Rodriguez's face into the steel steps and whipped Rodriguez with a belt around the ring before connecting with a Razor's Edge for a near fall. Ripley then locked in the Prusm Trap and had the match won, only for Roxanne Perez to appear from out of nowhere and break up the submission.

Ripley took out Perez on the outside with a Suplex before a Penalty Kick while Perez had a trash can over her head. All this did was allow Raquel Rodriguez to recover and she fired Ripley into the ring post before throwing Ripley into the steel steps and hitting a Corkscrew Vader Bomb for a near fall.

Later, Ripley and Rodriguez ended up on top of a table that was draped across the top turnbuckle. After both competitors found their footing, Ripley hit an Avalanche Riptide from the table for the win.

Sami Zayn def. Karrion Kross

Karrion Kross wrestled in his first pay-per-view match since WrestleMania 40 in the third match at Night of Champions as he went one-on-one with Sami Zayn.

Sami Zayn enjoyed the support of the fans in the early going and he channelled their energy, flattening Kross with a Moonsault from the barricade to the floor. As Zayn re-entered the ring, though, Kross suddenly connected with a Saito Suplex which turned the tide of the match as the former Final Testament leader suddenly worked over Zayn.

Kross laughing in his opponent's face backfired as Zayn fired back with punches and a lariat before an Axehandle from the top rope. Kross scored a near fall soon after with a Death Valley Driver and followed up with a Krossjacket but Zayn escaped. Kross managed to connect with a Saito Suplex anyway before he went for the Krosshammer, only for Zayn to counter into a Blue Thunder Bomb.

Kross suckered in his opponent and connected with multiple German Suplexes, but Zayn caught Kross and hit an Exploder Suplex into the corner. Zayn went for the Helluva Kick, but he ran straight into the Krossjacket. Zayn prevented his arm from falling for a third time and he eventually managed to reach the bottom rope.

With Zayn struggling, Kross taunted his opponent and told Zayn to admit he is a liar in between lariats in the corner and slaps. Kross went for another lariat but Zayn got his legs going and connected with a Helluva Kick out of nowhere for the win.

Solo Sikoa def. Jacob Fatu (c) - United States Championship

Solo Sikoa didn't wait for the bell to ring and caught Jacob Fatu with a right hand. The United States Champion soon fired back, though, with both men enjoying time on top in the opening minutes.

Fatu took control following a Flying Clothesline to the outside and he followed up with two Sentons before he went for the Best Moonsault Ever, only for Solo to roll to the outside. The champion went for a Suicide Dive but ran straight into a right hand from Sikoa. Solo continued to remain on top with a Uranage on the apron and then another one on the outside.

Sikoa fired his bottom into Fatu's face in the corner soon after before applying a Sleeper as Solo continued to taunt his former stablemate. Fatu managed to hulk up following a German Suplex and he followed up with an Impaler DDT before a Senton Bomb for a near fall. As Fatu went for the win, JC Mateo distracted the referee and Tonga Loa returned from out of nowhere and hit a Corkscrew Neckbreaker. Solo thought that was it but Fatu kicked out.

Jacob Fatu followed up with a Fosbury Flop to take out Mateo and Tonga Loa and followed up with a Pop-up Samoan Drop to Sikoa. Fatu then connected with the BME, but a debuting Hikuleo dragged Fatu out of the ring as he went for the pin due to the official being distracted by Mateo.

Hikuleo chokeslammed Fatu on the announce table, with Solo following up with a Samoan Spike for the win.

Jade Cargill def. Asuka - Queen of the Ring Final

Storm vs. Asuka in the semi-main event as Jade Cargill clashed with the former Raw Women's Champion in the Queen of the Ring final.

Asuka dominated the early going, targeting Cargill's leg before Jade dumped Asuka to the mat with a Wheelbarrow German Suplex. Asuka soon regained control, though, repeatedly halting Cargill's offence before Jade scored a near fall with a Sit-Out Powerbomb.

Cargill then booted Asuka straight in the face and went for Jaded, but Asuka blocked it and went for Empress Impact. She ran straight into Jaded, however, as Cargill scored the 1-2-3 to become Queen of the Ring. Cargill held her knee after, but it may have just been good selling.

John Cena (c) def. CM Punk - Undisputed WWE Championship

Main event time as John Cena and CM Punk go one-on-one for the first time since 2013. Having apologised to Saudi Arabia on Friday, Punk received cheers in the Middle East.

The action started very slowly but Wade Barrett at least credited Michael Cole as a reformed football fan for calling the beautiful game football instead of soccer.

After 10 minutes of slow offence from Cena, the world champion hit a Five Knuckle Shuffle, but Punk escaped an Attitude Adjustment and hit his Running Knee in the corner before a Flying Elbow. Punk went for the Go To Sleep, however Cena reversed into an STF. Punk managed to escape but Cena hit an Attitude Adjustment for a two count.

Punk managed to escape another AA attempt and locked in his own STF. Punk hit another Running Knee before Cena blocked the Bulldog. Punk then blocked another Five Knuckle Shuffle and Cena hit another AA after an exchange of counters. Once again, Punk kicked out.

Punk escaped an Avalanche AA but Cena hit a third AA back on the mat. The fans in Saudi Arabia thought that was it but Punk kicked out at 2.9. Cena grabbed the Undisputed WWE Title belt but threw it out of the ring without using it, hinting that the fans are starting to have an influence on Big Match John once again. This allowed Punk to counter an AA into a GTS. The fans thought that was actually it but the champion had his own kick out at 2.9.

Cena then went for his Shoulder Tackle but took out the referee when Punk ducked. Punk then hit a second GTS and had the match won but there was no referee to count the pin.

Punk called for a referee but instead "Burn it Down" filled the arena as Seth Rollins, Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed headed to the ring with the Money in the Bank briefcase. Rollins ordered Breakker and Breed to take out Punk and he dived over them to the outside and was dumped through the announce table. Rollins then called for an official and Charles Robinson did a lovely long run, only to run straight into a Shoulder Tackle from Cena.

Cena then hit Rollins with an AA before Breakker and Bronson Reed took down Cena and were about to hit him with a Tsunami, only for Penta to come out and brawl with Breakker. This then brought out Sami Zayn as everyone with issues with Seth Rollins' faction got involved. Penta took down Breakker and Zayn with a Dive from the ramp.

Reed finally went for his Tsunami to Cena but he was pushed off the top rope by Punk. Cena then connected with an AA to Reed to bring the match back to one-on-one.

Punk offered Cena a handshake and Big Match John accepted with a hug before his face turned. Punk blocked Cena's kick and went for a GTS, only to be battered in the face by the Money in the Bank briefcase from Rollins. One stomp later and Cena threw Rollins out of the ring and covered Punk for the win.
