WWE NXT Great American Bash 2023 Results

WWE NXT once again ventured away from the WWE Performance Center on Sunday, July 30 as the company's Tuesday night brand presented the Great American Bash from the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park, Texas.

The show featured a great match in the main event as Carmelo Hayes defended the NXT Championship against Ilja Dragunov. The challenger promised to make NXT the most intense WWE brand if he won in an exclusive interview with Cultaholic Wrestling but it wasn't meant to be for Dragunov. The former NXT UK Champion looked set to pick up the win down the stretch but he inadvertently connected with the NXT Title belt when he looked to hit Torpedo Moscow. This allowed Carmelo Hayes to connect with his Nothing But Net finisher to record the successful title defence. 

The Judgment Day's Dominik Mysterio put the NXT North American Championship on the line in a Triple Threat Match against Wes Lee and Mustafa Ali at Great American Bash, with "Dirty" Dom picking up the win following repeated interference from Rhea Ripley. Tiffany Stratton also managed to retain the NXT Women's Title after she applied a Boston Crab in her Submission Match with Thea Hail. The challenger refused to submit but issues within Chase U only look set to worsen after Andre Chase threw in the towel for his faction-mate, much to the disbelief of Duke Hudson. 

There was one title change at NXT Great American Bash, however, as Tony D'Angelo and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo overcame interference from Joe Coffey to defeat Gallus' Mark Coffey and Wolfgang for the NXT Tag Team Titles. Coffey repeatedly interfered and he tried to do so again down the stretch, only to be wiped out by a crowbar shot from Tony D. Big Tony then connected with the Bada Bing to Wolfgang before he made the cover for the 1-2-3. 

All eyes were on Gable Steveson on Sunday night as he made his WWE in-ring debut against Baron Corbin. WWE did the Olympic gold medallist no favours, though, as his first match ended in a double count-out following a brawl at ringside. Steveson was eventually able to stand tall after he fought off security and sent Corbin crashing through the barricade but the fans in Cedar Park were having none of it, filling the arena with boos following the finish. 

Elsewhere at the Great American Bash, Roxanne Perez defeated Blair Davenport in a Weapons Wild Match. Dragon Lee, Nathan Frazer, Yulisa Leon, and Valentina Feroz also picked up a win over Meta-Four on the pre-show.
