Grayson Waller Told "It's All Downhill From Here" Following Edge Match On WWE SmackDown

A joke from Michael Hayes to Grayson Waller

As New Found Glory said back in 2004, it's all downhill from here and that is exactly what WWE Vice President of Creative Writing & Booking Michael Hayes told Grayson Waller following his match with Edge on the July 7 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.

After being asked about the backstage reaction to the match on the MMA Hour, Waller stated: "Michael Hayes told me, 'It's all downhill from here.' [laughs]. He's not wrong, I had John Cena at O2 Arena the week before. It was such an emotional rollercoaster after and you stress about it so much and think about it so much, and it happens so quickly. It was cool having some of my friends up there saying congratulations. The one that will stick with me is Michael Hayes saying, 'It's all downhill from here.'"

The host of the Grayson Waller Effect would ultimately lose the match to Edge.

Waller has been placed in prominent spots since moving to the main roster and he looks set to be featured once again at WWE SummerSlam, with rumours suggesting he has been pitched for a segment with a WWE legend at the August 5 pay-per-view.
