Gable Steveson's WWE In-Ring Debut Ends In A Double Count-Out At NXT Great American Bash

A rough WWE in-ring debut for Gable Steveson

Gable Steveson's first-ever WWE match will be remembered for all of the wrong reasons.

The Olympic gold medallist made his much-anticipated WWE in-ring debut at NXT Great American Bash on Sunday, July 3 as Steveson went one-on-one with Baron Corbin. Everything initially seemed to be going well for Steveson as he received a huge reaction from the fans in Cedar Park, Texas when he made his entrance but those in attendance soon turned against Gable, mercilessly chanting "You're not Angle" and even supporting Baron Corbin whenever the former United States Champion was on offence.

The match itself has received mixed reviews but the finish will likely live in infamy as Steveson and Corbin brawled at ringside which resulted in the referee calling the match off as a double count-out. Security then hit the ring following the match as the two competitors continued brawling, only for Steveson to take them out before he ended the segment standing tall after sending Corbin crashing through the barricade.

Steveson looked to celebrate in the ring following the match but the arena only filled with more boos as the broadcast finally moved backstage.
